Final Inspections Knitwear / Woven / Accessories
The goods are received from the suppliers inside boxes, unloaded, divided by items. The merchandise can be either packaged in polybags or unpackaged, usually, it depends on the percentage of controls decided by the clients. If it is requested 100% inspection it is better to deliver the items unpackaged, if 10% or AQL the merchandise has to be packed in the factories. After the unloading, the packing list is loaded in the WMS and it will be available the sampling picking list, to pick the quantities of each style for the inspections. The quality control is based on the requirements and expectations of the clients: it can be done a light visual inspection (up to 1 minute), a standard inspection of 2/3 minutes, or a deep inside and outside quality check. Usually, we divide the checking in visual, functional, measurements. The visual inspection checks any imperfections on internal/external materials and accessories, such as fabric, stains, rings, holes, color shading, stitches, lamp (for knitwear), poor workmanship or ironing, and any other anomaly that may make the item contestable by the end customer. The functional inspection focus on seams tightness, buttons, tears endurance, correct opening and closing of snap buttons, zip fluidity, and endurance. The measurements checking is usually performed on the minimum base of 5 pieces per size and color; it is available the measurements table which shows also the tolerance in case of differences. To perform all the above activities our clients have to provide a set of information in advance: technical sheets, measurements charts, PPS, seasonal inbound plan.
Packaging
If the merchandise is sent to the final inspection center unpackaged because it is requested to proceed with 100% quality control, the last activity to do after the inspection is to pack the items. Usually, the packaging activity is driven by a strict procedure that explains step by step all the requirements of the client. It is important to have all the information related to the polybag to use for every category of merchandise, the measurements of the garment folded, and the hangtags to apply on the merchandise and so on.
